We are hiring a Senior Merchant Operations Manager (Payments Manager) to build and own the payments operations infrastructure behind our web-to-web subscription funnels. This person will set up and scale merchant and PSP operations, billing processes, routing and cascading readiness, payment recovery flows, user payment notifications, and payment support operations. The ideal candidate has deep experience in mobile/web/web-to-web subscription businesses and hands-on knowledge of Stripe, PayPal, merchant setup, and subscription payment infrastructure.
Requirements
Strong experience in payments, merchant operations, or billing operations
Mandatory background in mobile and web subscription products
Deep understanding of subscription billing, renewals, retries, refunds, and chargebacks
Hands-on experience with Stripe/PayPal/Adyen/Paddle
Experience setting up merchant accounts, PSPs, and payment infrastructure
Strong knowledge of routing, cascading, and payment recovery processes
Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and support teams
Knowledge of fraud, disputes, and chargeback operations
Responsibilities
Own setup and operations of payment infrastructure for web-to-web subscription funnels
Set up and manage Stripe/Paddle/Adyen, merchant accounts, billing systems, and other PSPs
Design scalable processes for routing, cascading, payment recovery, and issue resolution
Partner closely with the Payments Manager, PMM, PDMs, product, and support teams
Own payment-related user notifications and billing communication flows
Establish support processes for payment-related user issues
Build SOPs, playbooks, and operational documentation
Identify gaps in the payment stack and drive operational improvements
Nice to have
Experience with web-to-web funnel development
Experience in high-growth consumer subscription products
Experience building payment-related support processes or teams
Understanding of how payment operations impact conversion and retention
1) Get control over the current payment landscape, remove blind spots, and launch the basic operational foundation quickly
2) Put the core payment operations infrastructure in place and start standardizing execution. Set up and optimize Stripe/Paddle/Adyen, merchant accounts, and billing operations.
3) Move from setup to stable operations and measurable improvement.
